Married – Jenna & Michael {West Bend Wisconsin Wedding Photographer}

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

I had such an amazing time at Jenna and Michael’s wedding. The look of love between the two of them was simply inspiring. They care so deeply for each other and it truly showed. Thank you guys for letting me be a part of your day!

Additionally, enjoy some fun comments from the bride and groom!

What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Groom: when my brother (Greg Banks) saved the day when the DJ equipment failed
Bride: mike’s speech to me during dinner… and waiting to walk down the aisle in the back of church

Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Groom: my nephew’s dance moves
Bride: Gabriel (part of miniature couple) stealing the golf cart and speeding away (actually funny, then really scary for a minute, but now funny!)

Any advice for future brides/grooms?
Groom: a lesson in love is a lesson in life so don’t be afraid to love
Bride: try to treasure every moment b/c the day will fly by!

What was your favorite wedding gift?
Groom: kitchen aid mixer
Bride: cabela’s tent so that we could camp on our honeymoon… and the whiskey set from my uncle joel & aunt joyce (glassware)

And finally, the lovely vendors that made this beautiful day possible!

Tammy & Eric – Married! {West Bend Wisconsin Modern Wedding Photographer}

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

I had the great pleasure of photographing Tammy & Eric’s wedding reception at the Milwaukee Ale House in Grafton, WI.  It was a great event.  The forecast was for rain, but the clouds opened up and it turned out to be a beautiful day!  Tammy and Eric both looked great, and we all danced the night away!  Congratulations you guys!

Bank of Memories & Flowers

This month’s featured vendor is a florist!  Her name is Melissa and she owns Bank of Memories & Flowers in Menomonee Falls and Pewaukee.

Melissa caters to what brides envision.  Bank of Memories doesn’t simply provide cookie cutter service. Instead brides meet with the florists and give them colors, themes, personality, and their venue and the staff at Bank of Memories & Flowers will take that and create a beautiful atmosphere for any wedding!

One of my favorite things that Bank of Memories & Flowers provides is event coordinating services which ensures that you have the floral coverage that you need.  This means delivering the flowers to the ceremony site, pinning on boutonnieres, taking down the ceremony arrangements and taking them to the reception site and also tear down at the end of the night!  How awesome would that be to not have to worry about little details like cleaning up your centerpieces at the end of your reception?

I had the great pleasure of sitting down with Melissa this week to talk about her favorite things, including wedding flowers!

I immediately started with the hard questions:

What is your favorite color?

Green!  It’s a very calming yet fun color.

What is your favorite food?

My mom’s enchiladas!

Okay, now that we know some fun facts about you, let’s talk weddings.  How early in the wedding process should brides contact you?

As soon as they have their bridesmaids’ dress colors and a sense of what they will like to decorate

What are some of the fun and trendy colors for 2010?

Citrus colors like orange lime green and yellow, red and pink are always popular too

What’s the number one floral arrangement that brides tend to overlook?

Church doors, it really sets the mood and theme of the wedding.   They also can be re-used at the reception too.  When entering the church, everyone will be inches away from it and start to ohh and ahh!

Do you offer something for every bride, from small weddings to gala events?

Oh yes, every wedding is special, no matter the size!

I visited the Menomonee Falls location, however both locations are unique.  The Menomonee Falls location was actually the old bank!  In fact, the cooler is where the vault used to be.  How fun is that?  And the Pewaukee location is going green, and not just because they sell plants!  From rain barrels to coffee grinds for fertilizer, the Pewaukee Bank of Memories & Flowers location is doing their part in making the world a greener place.
