Dreams Los Cabos Wedding Photo Tour
In April 2011 Faber Photography went to Dreams Los Cabos to photograph two very beautiful weddings (Victoria & Alastair and Teira & Travis). While there, we decided to do a photo tour of the property to help future brides get a feel of the resort. We also wrote a review which can be viewed on the Best Destination Wedding Website. If you have any questions at all or would like us to photograph YOUR destination wedding, please contact us by clicking HERE!
When we landed in sunny Los Cabos we quickly went OUT of the airport to find our transportation. The individuals standing inside were trying to confuse us, however we know to go OUTSIDE to get our correct van. After a 20 minute ride, we were there!
Here is the lobby as you pull up and then as you walk through.
And the gorgeous view on the other end of the lobby! This is the infinity pool, the swim up bar (off to the right, off the image) along with the Seaside Grill.
After checking in we made our way to our beautiful honeymoon suite. Although the halls are just yellow, the architecture is beautiful.
Here is our room! We were upgraded to a gorgeous honeymoon suite (it was our three year anniversary). Upon arrival there was a bottle of champagne and some fruit. We walked into the kitchen area and then into the living room. The living room had a balcony with two chairs and a table that overlooked the tranquility pool.
The room had a nice walk in closet (complete with robes and slippers) and a separate room for the tub and toilet.
The bathroom was also well equipped with necessities!
Here is the Tranquility pool during the evening and during the day. You can see the Marlin Bar at the end of the pool. This pool is more “natural” so is warmer than the large pool, quieter, and has really good wait service.
Here is a view of the pool with a reception being set up (Oceana Terrace). You can see the bar is in the palm tree area on the right hand side of the photo. In this case, the head table was facing the pool.
Here is that same wedding (V&A) up close and then at night with the palm trees and tables lit up.
This reception also opted for fire dancers at this location.
Here is a cocktail reception being setup at the same location and a close up of the centerpiece choice.
We will carry on with our tour by taking a walk down the path. It’s very lush with lots of “friends” to greet you along your way!
While walking, you’ll probably want a refreshing drink! This is what used to be the swing bar, but it’s now bar stools. They are equally as hard to sit in though, as they are quite high off the ground! For those of you who have not met my husband/second shooter… this is Shawn enjoying a Bart Simpson. I would highly recommend this drink, but be prepared, it’s a kids drink so no alcohol… sorry, we’re working!
Next stop, the beach. The beach is gorgeous to look at. Be warned, it is NOT swimmable. The waves were at least 15 feet high and the current is very strong. The sand actually is also not good for running as you’ll sink about six inches with every step. Hey, at least it’s gorgeous to look at! Brides, if you’re getting married on the beach I highly recommend you go barefoot. Even flip flops sink deep into the sand.
Next, El Patio Restaurant. This is a buffet. We ate here almost every day for breakfast as they had great fruit. The lunch switches between El Patio and Seaside Grill. One will have buffet while the other has a menu. We chose to eat with a menu for every lunch, but then go to the buffet to get more fruit!
Just outside of the El Patio is the wedding gazebo. It’s a beautiful white column gazebo and offers a great ocean backdrop for your wedding ceremony. Here it is as the sun is going down.
This picture was taken from inside the Gazebo, looking at El Patio.
Here is the Wedding Gazebo set up during the day for a gorgeous wedding!
Now we’ll move onto the next wedding location, the beach. This option is amazing with the waves crashing on the rocks. It truly is magical.
Staying with the beach theme, here is a wedding reception being held on the beach. Be warned, it is very windy and the likelihood of sand getting in your food is great. However the dance floor in this photograph lit up and had the entire party dancing. It looked like a great time!
If you turn around (remember, you’re on a virtual tour), you will see the Cascade Terrace reception location. This is the main pool. In this case, the dinner was held on the raised level and dancing down below.
The next reception location is the El Dorado Banquet Hall. This is great if you want to dance in air conditioning, go later into the night, or have it be more private.
That concludes the wedding portion of the resort, but perhaps you’d like a little more information for yourself or your guests. Dreams Los Cabos, Mexico has a ton of activities for young and old. Here are just a few!
Tennis & Air Rifles!
A beautiful fitness center, complete with lovely air conditioning!
In this same area as the fitness center there are two pool tables and two ping pong tables. For the record, I am the ping pong master.
The spa is also located right outside the fitness center. I did not take any pictures inside the spa as I’m pretty sure the lady getting her massage would not have enjoyed it if I walked in, but here are some little bits of information you might find useful. These were taking in April 2011, so please forgive me if the prices have changed!
A short walk will take you to the Kids Explorer Club. This place looked awesome and Shawn and I were jealous a few times while watching these kids. Not only do they have this awesome club house to play in, but they go for “adventures.” When we saw them they were feeding iguanas bananas and making smores at the campfire.
And I leave you with our farewell dinner at Seaside Grill. This place was delicious and Shawn highly recommends the coconut shrimp!
If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact me! I hope you have a fantastic wedding or trip to Dreams Los Cabos, I know we did!
